High

High
i better blog about this general light-headed feeling i have before it disappears. whoohoo. maybe it's the endorphins, maybe i'm just a wee bit high on too much caffeine, can that be possible. well, it might have been the last day at the 'home' i told you all about, so i gave all the staff and the nurses (all of whom are really really nice) some chocolates. even that ice queen of a clerk got one.

i repaired a watch for one of the elderly patients, i took them out to see peacocks at a nearby peacock pen, and i fixed a cupboard door. wow, doing good stuff does feel GOOD!!!

and then i came back and i just ran 2.4 km. and now i'm back, and my mum got this new coffee mix 'coz my regular supply of cafe21 just up and went God-knows-where, so my mum urged me to try the new coffee...

and tomorrow i'm watching memoirs of a geisha with lipjeen! don't even bother spoilling it for me, i've read the book so, i practically know the whole story already. haha! suckers!!

so well! i'm happy now. and my mum got a really good meal prepared for all of us so, whaddaya say i don't keep them waiting?

bye guys!!

The Last Week

The Last Week

okay, it's time to reveal what i've been up to the past week or so. first for those who pop by this site and visit, let me mutter an apology "sorry...." for not being able to update this place for a while now. firstly it has been a crazy, busy week and my computer broke down. there was this trojan that invaded my computer, and so, right now, i'm back online, and back blogging again.

let me see, things that happened...

i've got a job! well, it's sort of like a job actually. erm, let me give you background to this. my aunty married this guy who runs this big clinic down at jalan pudu. it's called 'leela ratos and friends clinic' or something, leela ratos being of north indian descent, and whose son married my aunty. yep, so that end of my family tree is chindian (chinese+indian). anyway, there's this whole lot from ground to the 3rd floor that's consisting of a clinic on the first and second floor, and a nursing home for the elderly on the third. so, given that i'm kinda looking to do something at least relevant to what i wanna pursue (medicine) i asked if i could work there.

cut the long story short, i'm working as a part time nurse! (do i hear you all gasping??? got problem arh??? grr....) haha, anyway, the work there's kinda okay, it gets boring after a while. i shall spare you the details here, but if you are curious, click here. it's a little difficult at first, but it really is very fulfilling after everyday. it's like helping out a lil, you know, actually do something for the elderly there, and interact with them and pick up a few things on my own about the healthcare industry. by the way, this home makes big bucks. details at the link again.

so that's that. that's why i'm so beat after every(mon and wednes) day.

things with me and my girlfriend, haiz...not that smooth...i don't know why. she's shy by nature. she has to learn to open up and share. i need to learn how to shut up.

someone close just broke up, and well, keep strong. now comes the time where that God-awful cliche that says something about multitudes of fish in the vast oceans. haha, i'm not going to leave that piece of advise here. just...well. keep strong man.

things with my family, okay saje lah...except whenever i bring up my dad with my mum and vice versa. guys, don't ruin your marriages. i'll personally lecture you. haha...

i saw lance armstrong on oprah. that guy's great man. truly one of sports greater people.

'tis late, and i'll stop now larh, k? gnite folks!

Yuck

Yuck
okay, i dislike it in all forms. not as a stir-fried dish, not as a yong tao foo (or niang tao foo to the singaporeans) not raw, and i as i found out today, not as a juice. yuck. i went out with lipjeen to midvalley this afternoon. i lost a bet to her the other time and as a forfeit, i had to drink it as a juice. at first, my tongue shouted defiantly at me, "see? it's not that bad what! tastes like green apple juice." but true to it's name, it left a bitter aftertaste. yes, i'm talking about bittergourd juice. haiyoh....next time i won't make such risky bets.

here's the lyrics of an R.E.M. song that even the guitarist thinks "is the stupidest song we've ever written," and hence instantly adorable, innit? go download it for yourself. haha...

Stand
(chorus)
Stand in the place where you live
(Now face North)
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven’t
Now stand in the place where you work
(Now face West)
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven’t before

If you are confused check with the sun
Carry a compass to help you along
Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you around, so…

(chorus)

If wishes were treesthe trees would be falling
Listen to reason
Reason is calling
Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you around, so…

haha, cheers dudes!

The New Year

The New Year
'tis man, 'tis the new year! first let me recap my christmas experience. my dad took us up to fraser's hill. it was quite cold (yay!) and we did some jungle trekking there. remember the two singaporean kids who got lost?? i wonder what they teach the scouts in singapore. the jungle path is like this (imagine me holding out my arms) wide larh! i barely broke a sweat walking those trails. haha. there's actually a defunkt 'tourism centre' there that asked us to sign in before taking those walks (i shan't call them 'treks') in case we got lost like the two kids. they would at least have a record of what trail we would go and all right? and so locate us easier. we had to sign in again after the trail so they would know we're okay. guess what? we forgot to sign in after we got back and they didn't even bother. haha. malaysian efficiency!

so i got back, and lo and behold! there's a blue yoga mat waiting for me! haha! oh yeah, i forgot to tell you all. i'm taking yoga! haha...! very ku-niang arh?? got problem??! me and my mum go to this like very small community club UKRC (ulu klang recreational club) or something which is near my house. and we pay (singaporeans, don't scream) rm40 a month for yoga! haha. i tell you, everytime i go there i feel as inflexible as mr tay asking us for our homework. wah, my calf muscles are aching even now after all the tip-toeing excercises. by the way, my mum got a pink yoga mat for herself. haha...we two like got couple mat. keke...

so yeah, for new years, we went to KLCC to see the fireworks! for you all that don't know KL, klcc is very near my place and both are connected by LRT (light rail transit). the singaporeans correctly named theirs mass rail transit coz the malaysian trains are damn blerdy small! but anyways, the funny thing is that we got there 10 minutes before the countdown, counted down, saw the fireworks (very near, very impressive), saw how the smoke from the first half of the firework repetoire obscured the other fireworks. malaysia, malaysia. haha...

whoa, i tell you, today i drove to 1 utama again. i've been driving there a lot lately. on thursday to 1 utama, on friday to the curve and again today! but today the whole masses of dumb people (myself and family included) decided to go there also! ever get that feeling? there's absolutely no parking!!!

haha, so we enthu-enthu wanna go far far and shop, we ended up going to good 'ol KLCC again. i tried my hand at reverse parking again (getting better), and tried parallel parking for the first time. not bad larh.

whoah, damn scary i tell you, that day after driving my mum's car, got this like funny sound whenever i turn right hard. there's this like scrapping sound. wah!! i haven't got my own car then have to pay repairs already! no fair!! but it turns out that it's a problem that didn't get fixed propperly last time larh. yeah. anyway, so much for this post!

happy new year you all!!
