New Year (among other things)

so hi! i'm back. after a long, long time of disappearing under the radar. i'm back to doing stuff on facebook, f*cking facebook. playing poker there, and losing all my chips promptly. haha.

so! where have been! well, let me get it all down in chronological order!

after the exams, i had Friday Night, the uni's talent night of sorts. i performed in two bands, the first we did Tell Me Baby by the fantastic RHCP and then Bright Lights by Matchbox 20 with me on piano! haha. the audience and bandmembers were lucky i didn't stumble.

the next band we did Little of Your Time by that horny Maroon 5 (uegh, don't remind me of that song. haha. it is quite a nice song, but damn horrid lyrics larh.) Bittersweet Symphony, a piece of timeless music, and She Says, by Howie Day.

and then i had a five day trip to hongkong and china. it was great, except the stupid tour company kept on bringing us to 'museums' which just turns out to be factories with a little bit of display, and lots of sales counters.
(from left: myself, Dad, and Ming Wai, at Splendor of China, a miniature park)

and then when i got back, it was nearly Christmas, and as usual, there are things to be done. some of the things were unnecessary, but it made Christmas a little more special, probably with the elevated risk of food poisoning. isn't that right dear? haha.

oh, and by the way, my brother and i got ourselves Christmas presents in the form of an Xbox 360! it's plenty of fun. i'm currently going through Bioshock. i've finished halo3, and call of duty 4. and my brother completed Portal! oh gosh, what an amazing game. go and try it for yourself. if not for the thrill of it, then just for the humour.

new years for me was spending time with my mum at home watching a DVD. oklarh. it was quite fun.

a week later i had to go to this orang asli hospital deep into the rural areas to do some attachments. grh, it was sapping. everyday i had to get there at 8.30am, clerk patients' history and then go back. luckily it was only for three days. well, life goes on.

however, this visit opened my eyes to the suffering of the aborigines in malaysia. they earn literally no money at all and they have very, very bad healthcare. no one in the general malaysian populace gave a shit (i didn't). the kids play around barefooted, naked, and sitting in ditches, playing in rivers infected with parasites.

the resident doctor told us that on one of his trips into the jungle, via plane, helicopter, sampan, or 4x4, he saw this boy vomit out a metre long worm. A METRE! holy mother-o-***....

anyway, lets end of a lighter note. (okaaaay, this isn't so uplifting, but...) i have exams coming up again. garh. so that means every time i go out, i'm carry a little bit of paranoia around with me.

oh Lord, please help me pass...

Hey...
You'll be fine in your exam, ok??
I think the orang asli place where you did your work is interesting... Close to nature right?? I think I'll like it, minus the lack of hygiene... lol
